go to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ in your regestry, create a new key called "StorageDevicePolicies" (without quotes ) and add a new Dword called "WriteProtect" and value=0. Do this for "ControlSet001" and "ControlSet002" also.
Close your registry and restart the computer. Now, connect the drive & do a quick format.
VOILA!!! your drive is ready but alas!! all your current data will be lost.
